Currently, Med-Eng has a challenging opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator at our Ottawa, Ontario office.




The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and benefits support to the Human Resources Team. Contributes to HR programs and policies and provides support to associates on general inquiries.



  • Manages the flow of all Canadian and US transactions with Payroll. A high level of detail, accuracy and time management is essential in this area.
  • Supports the recruiting process.
  • Administers the company benefits plan including re-enrollment and addresses associate questions, reviews monthly statements for accuracy, prepares invoices for finance, interfaces with Canadian and US benefit providers and brokers.
  • Develops and maintains Wellness and Information Sessions.
  • Updates company RRSP/DPSP Plan – reports changes.
  • Interfaces with associates to provide information on HR programs and policies, participates in new hire orientation.
  • Maintains the HRIS system: entry and audit of all employee information and reporting, department, compensation and status changes to HR Systems.
  • Maintains Talentquest Performance Management tool to include uploads of new users.
  • Creates, runs and distributes standard and custom reports from the HR database.
  • Prepares new associate packages and employee orientations, sets up new hires in various systems and databases, coordinates and distributes new hire information to all relevant departments
  • Maintains the Service Awards and Rewards and Recognition programs
  • Maintains HR Intranet site.
  • Files all HR related documents in personnel files
  • Participates in the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
  • Coordinates Training and Development records and skills inventory of associates.
  • Manages the Onboarding/Off Boarding process.
  • Corporate Administrative duties as assigned by the General Manager.



  • College or University completion in Human Resources Management or a suitable combination of education and experience;
  • A minimum two (2) years to three (3) experience in a Human Resources role;
  • Working towards CHRP designation;
  • Experience with an HRIS –ADP People @ Work;
  • Experience with Benefits Administration – Canadian and US;
  • Knowledge of employment law and the Employment Standard Act;
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and Power point are essential;
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload and multiple tasks with short deadlines;
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • Must be detail oriented;
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills;
  • Dedicated team player.
